Professor Schooler has been an IRS Appeals Officer since 1993 after working for over 13 years as an IRS Estate and Gift Tax Attorney. He has principal responsibility for all tax controversy matter affecting trusts and estates, gifts, and “generation-skipping” transfer taxes, as well as income taxation of trusts and estates.
Professor Schooler has spoken before numerous professional associations and continuing legal education program on topics related to estate and gift tax. He is a lecturer at University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA Extension Program). Professor Schooler has also written extensively on estate and gift tax topics including valuation issues.
