The Legal Aid Clinic Program
As part of its commitment to the democratized legal education of the Los Angeles community, UWLA provides the public with legal advice and assists individuals to prepare for self-representation in court through its free Legal Aid Clinic. The clinic is open to the public one evening a week and is located at the West Los Angeles campus.
Students interested in assisting those who can’t afford legal advice while also gaining practical clinical training are encouraged to enroll in the Legal Aid Clinic Program. Participants work under the supervision of an attorney in case analysis, preparation of pleadings, research, and practical aspects of actual cases. Through the program, the University extends a valuable service to the larger community while offering clinical experience to its law students.
