Enrollment applications are accepted on a continuous basis; courses commence at the beginning of every 8-week term. Our admissions standard is high, and our bar is set to allow qualified individuals the opportunity to pursue a quality graduate education. Admissions requirements are outlined below.
Admissions Requirements - Personal Statement addressing:
- Personal background information
- Current career path and/or future career aspirations or goals
- Candidate’s interest in pursuing a graduate degree with an explanation of how achieving this accomplishment will impact the candidate
- Academic and/or professional achievements not demonstrable on the GMAT test alone that would support the candidate’s success in the MSA program
- Resume
- Submission of official transcripts from the institution that granted the candidate’s bachelor’s degree or international equivalent (it is the candidate’s responsibility to have transcripts evaluated and translated by a certified translator or credential evaluation service.) In limited hardship situations, a NACES organization approved official transcript evaluation report will be accepted along with an attestation of validity.
- Submission of the UWLA School of Business application and application fees.
- Participation in a personal Interview conducted by the Director of Enrollment
- Two letters of recommendation (dated within the past 2 years) from:
- An employer or mentor
- A professor or instructor
International Students Admissions requirements for international students are the same as outlined above. However, international students must have their transcripts verified by a UWLA, or State approved Transcript Evaluator, such as World Education Service and students should indicate if undergraduate work was completed in a language other than English. UWLA recognizes all members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). A list of the members of NACES can be found at www.naces.org.
Language Requirements
International applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English by satisfying one of the following conditions:
- Submit official results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 71 or better (internet-based test- iBT); or 527-530 (paper-based test- PBT).
- Submit International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Version) – a score of 6 or better is required for admission.
- Submit a score of 90 or higher on the Duolingo English Test (DET)
- West Los Angeles College (WLAC) Language Academy Examination

Transcript Policy
Students must submit official or unofficial transcripts prior to admission. If a student submits an unofficial transcript prior to admission, absent of emergency situations, student will have 45 days from the start of the term to submit an official transcript. If they do not provide their official transcripts within this time frame, they will immediately be administratively dismissed (and international students will have their Visas terminated). In limited hardship situations, a NACES organization approved official transcript evaluation report will be accepted along with an attestation of validity.
