LA County Committee of Bar Examiners Accredited Law Schools Scholarship
The University of West Los Angeles School of Law, Glendale University College of Law, and Santa Barbara and Ventura Colleges of Law have established the LA County Committee of Bar Examiners Accredited Law Schools Scholarship to assist students pursuing graduate study at the University of West Los Angeles School of Law, Glendale University College of Law, or Santa Barbara and Ventura Colleges of Law. This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the LA County Committee of Bar Examiners Accredited Law Schools Scholarship must be:
Awards
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award in the amount of $3,000.
Awards are not renewable; however, applicants may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Financial need is not considered for merit-based awards. However, financial need as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive a need-based award.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of University of West Los Angeles School of Law, Glendale University College of Law, or Santa Barbara and Ventura Colleges of Law play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Notification
Applicants will be notified in late July. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments in one installment in August.

Transfer students from ABA or state-accredited law schools may be eligible for a 10% tuition scholarship, if they have a law school cumulative GPA of 2.70 at the time of transfer. Applicants that qualify will be offered the scholarship upon admission to the program. To secure the scholarship, the “New Student Scholarship Acceptance Form” must be returned by the deadline in the applicant’s acceptance letter. In order to continue to receive the scholarship throughout your academic career conditions must be met. The University of West Los Angeles recognizes the sacrifice and contributions of those who are currently serving or have served in the United States Armed Forces. Due to the passage of H.R. 7105 in 2021, veterans wishing to use the GI Bill and VA benefits for a JD program are now limited to law schools approved by the American Bar Association (ABA). Our JD program is only authorized for Chapter 31 (Veteran Readiness And Employment). The University would like to thank you for your service by offering our Law Students who are admitted to our JD program with a 15% tuition scholarship.
