UWLA maintains two libraries. The LAX campus is located at 9800 South La Cienega Boulevard, Inglewood, CA 90301. The SFV campus is located at 21650 Oxnard Blvd., Suite 200 Woodland Hills, CA 91367. Contact information is as follows:
Policies
It is the mission of the Bernard Jefferson Library to provide the educational resources needed to meet the academic and research demands of the institution. The library is the center for learning materials and it serves as an important teaching platform for information literacy including several of the research and legal writing courses. Formal and informal instructions are given in the use of the library and its resources to students, faculty and staff.
The Bernard Jefferson Library features a print collection of approximately 17,000 volumes.

Approximately 6200 square feet with a total of 38 study carols and 8 study tables
Reference Services
The Library is staffed during all hours of operation. Directional reference service is available from Library staff at these hours. Research assistance is available to faculty, students and staff and provided by either senior staff or by the Director.
As a general rule, staff members are not allowed to give legal advice at this or any other law library. We can however, direct you to sources both in print or electronic that may provide an answer to a legal question.
OPAC
On-Line Public Access Catalog (OPAC) is the library’s database to the collection. It provides our students with easy electronic access to view the library’s collection. Any student who has access to an electronic device that is capable of connecting to the Internet can access the library’s OPAC.. Please contact the library if you need assistance accessing UWLA’s OPAC.
- Procedures to Search the Library’s OPAC:
- To search the library holdings do the following:
- Simply enter the search term and select the Search button.
- View the resulting list of titles.Select a specific record to see a title report for the record.
Photocopiers
The Library has photocopiers for use by all patrons. You will need a library account in order to use the copiers. Please refer to the Library Printing Policy located next to the copier and in electronic format in the Library’s D2L page.
Any copier malfunction must be reported immediately to the Library staff on duty.
The copiers are turned off 15 minutes prior to closing time.
