Mr. Verdel Baskin

Verdel Baskin serves as the Senior Director of Admissions at UWLA. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Colorado College, where he majored in English. Following a career in banking and nonprofit leadership, Verdel pursued and earned a master’s degree in psychology from Walden University.

With a deep commitment to helping others achieve their goals, Verdel has dedicated more than nineteen years to the field of higher education admissions. He is passionate about supporting students throughout their educational journeys and finds fulfillment in witnessing their academic and personal success.

Verdel also has a longstanding interest in martial arts and Tai Chi. While he enjoys reflecting on his past training, he currently channels his enthusiasm for fitness into regular treadmill workouts. He later completed a second master’s degree, a Master of Divinity (MDiv), further broadening his academic and professional background.

Verdel has been a member of the UWLA community for eight years. He finds great satisfaction in contributing to student success and advancing UWLA’s value-driven mission
