Career Services Mission Statement
The University of West Los Angeles Career Services Department’s Mission, with core values of excellence in service and leadership, promotes career development of all UWLA students and alumni. The Career Services Department provides information, resources, services and events to UWLA students and alumni interested in purposeful and persistent career development, proactive educational achievement, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
Student Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to:
- Identify career options and follow through with career decisions based on utilization of the counseling process, assessment tools, and resources. (Career Planning)
- Prepare for an interview by implementing tips and strategies for successful interviewing as well as prepare and effective resume. (Interview and resume preparation)
- Identify and utilize job resources; career fairs, on-campus recruiting, networking sessions, career/co-op/internship/summer jobs and on-line resources. (Job search exploration)
- Ability to identity graduate school opportunities and movement through decision regarding application process; personal statements, letters of recommendation, CV and admission tests. (Graduate school application)
